MATCH REPORTS

Sudbourne Football Match Report – Match day 17/03/05 – Written by James Powell, Year 6, Sudbourne school.

Rosendale 6 v 0 Sudbourne

Last Thursday, Sudbourne were getting ready to take on the mighty Rosendale players.

We travelled to the Rosendale pitch straight after school in Mr Wentworth’s mini bus.

We got changed for the match, then we went on to the pitch to warm up. Mr Shaw practised with Rudy who was in goal, and the rest of the team passed the ball to each other.

Then it was 4.00 pm when the match was due to kick off. Luke did heads and tails with the Rosendale captain to see who was going to kick off first. The Rosendale players got kick off.

So they kicked off and were playing well, and so were Sudbourne. Rudy was saving lots of shots, the training must have paid off! Then all of a sudden Rosendale scored a brilliant goal. Sudbourne never gave up, then all of a sudden they scored another goal, but Sudbourne kept going. Just then, Luke got fouled by accident, so they called it half time. We had our drinks and a team talk, then we got back on the pitch. We kicked off this time, and we were playing much better than the first half.

Then a few minutes into the second half it went from 2 nil to 4 nil, but Sudbourne still kept going. But unfortunately they scored again, but Sudbourne never backed down. Just then, they scored again. Five minutes later the whistle blew. Sudbourne left with the score, 6 nil down. But altohugh Sudbourne were tired, they were still happy.
